Recover from burnout

Updated: Nov 24, 2023

Burnout is such a common challenge in this season.

The burnout term was birthed in the 1970’s by Herbert Freudenberger. It was used to describe the effects of severe stress and the pressure that comes from certain professions. Typically, those that have careers in being of service to others with long hours and high emotional involvement have this experience.

The Healing Garden blossomed as I noticed the symptoms of burn out coming up in conversations with people I connect with almost on a daily. People are being faced with being care givers, having intense work schedules with less time to enjoy their private lives, and taking on a lot of responsibilities without support. All of these experiences can take a toll on a person and adds pressure and tension in the body as well as causing lack of sleep. My conclusion, was there are a lot of people effected by stress from being over worked or other situations and I decided to create sacred space in hopes that we can invite those who might be affected. Use this as a way to unplug and release with relaxation.

Some strategies to try might be seeking help from a therapist, telling people what you need instead of taking on the role of independence. Realizing that we don’t have to do everything on our own we can get assistance from our village/community. Practicing self-compassion by bringing comfort to the body, encouraging yourself, and practicing mindfulness are just a few ways to incorporate self-compassion. Make a habit of journaling, this can help you to release thoughts that may not be serving you or empowering you. Most importantly be intentional about setting healthy boundaries.

There are some positive actions that come from burn out. You are able to rethink and reevaluate what is going on in your life and get clear on what really makes you happy. Practicing mindfulness and gratitude shifts your perspective deeply and when you ground yourself in this way it is not easily repeated.

If this resonates and you are in the North Carolina area, come join us for a day of relaxation with full body massages, facials, and mindfulness meditation at the healing garden. We invite those who are in careers that have high burn out rates. That would be those in law enforcement, educators, those in the medical field, healers, light workers, Social workers, any one on the front line of being of service to community but ALL are welcome to embrace this positive exchange we are offering. We can unplug together and get rejuvenated. Let's all leave lighter than how we came. We ask that you purchase your tickets in full and we will send you the address to the private location the night before

the event. May the way continue to be blessed.

Please purchase your tickets below and choose the drop down to avoid the shipping attached. We will be offering a black friday sale that you will be able to take advantage of. Once paid in full we will be able to send the address to the location of the healing garden. We appreciate you.

Meet Our Massage Therapist

Robin loves providing relaxation techniques on her clients, to help them de-stress, and maneuver through life, calmly! Her specialties include Swedish/Rest & Relaxation Massage, and Balinese Massage. For those unfamiliar with Balinese techniques, it is a medium pressure massage, that starts at the client’s feet and works upwards toward the client’s head. Robin enjoyed spending a week in Bali, where she learned to perform this unique massage technique. Robin is a previous student of Reiki 1 & 2, and plans to receive her masters in Reiki within the next couple of years. Robin is also certified in Hot Stone Massage. Robin and I met at Durham Tech in 2019. She has been a mentor to me and a great advisor and friend as I've navigated my way through the beauty industry.

I am grateful to have her partner with me in the healing garden.
